Andoni Murua Zentarruzabeitia (born 20 March 1953) is a retired Spanish footballer who played mainly as a Left winger.
Born in Barakaldo, Biscay, he developed his early football years in the second team of Athletic de Bilbao, but he could not make his debut in the first team because Txetxu Rojo, another great Left winger, stopped his progression. He moved two years to a nearby team, Sestao Sport and then to Levante UD. In his second year in Valencia, the team returned to second division. Murua played the first six matches of the next season, netting 2 goals, before he received the call of José María Maguregui, coach of AD Almería in 1979. This year Murua made his La Liga debuts with AD Almería against Real Sociedad (0-0).
Murua signed his next two contracts with RCD Espanyol and Racing Santander, thanks to Maguregui, who wished Murua for his teams.
Murua retired from professional football in 1986 in the same team, Sestao Sport, where his little brother Edorta was starting his career.
Nowadays, Murua is one of the three top scorers of AD Almería and UD Almeria in La Liga, with Alvaro Negredo and Clemente Rolon.
Murua did not make debut for Spain.
When Murua was Almeria player, he was pre-selected by Ladislao Kubala for the nation's 1982 FIFA World Cup, but he was not in the final list.
